Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 26, voters in Mississippi’s Central Supreme Court District will decide a runoff between Justice Jim Kitchens and State Senator Jenifer Branning, and voters in some communities will have runoff elections for school board candidates.
Effective, supportive school boards are essential for thriving schools, and Supreme Court decisions can be extremely important to public schools, as well. Runoff elections typically have low turnouts, so your vote could make the difference.
Before heading to the polls, you can find your polling place here.
Nearly 18 years ago, thousands of Mississippians joined forces as The Parents’ Campaign to lift our collective voices on behalf of children across our state. While your voices are the difference-makers, your monetary support also is essential to keep our effort strong. Next Tuesday, December 3, is Giving Tuesday. Between now and then, please consider supporting The Parents’ Campaign with a contribution that fits your budget. You can donate online, or you can mail a check to:

In this season of Thanksgiving, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for our amazing public school teachers and leaders and for the thousands of Parents’ Campaign supporters who have stood in the gap as champions of our students and our public schools. Our work together has meant better resources, more opportunities, and brighter futures for Mississippi children. What a blessing!
Wishing you and yours the happiest of Thanksgivings!
