Legislature Adjourns for Weekend, PERS Retiree News

The Legislature has adjourned for the weekend with a plan to return on Tuesday at 10 a.m., when they hope to have a COVID-19 relief bill drafted and ready for debate.

The IRS has declined to rule on the PERS request related to the issue of retirees drawing their PERS retirement while serving in the Legislature. A notice about the decision was posted yesterday on the PERS web site by director Ray Higgins. The PERS board of directors will likely consider the impact of the decision at its June meeting.

We will keep you in the loop as we learn more.

In the meantime, have a good weekend and stay safe. Together, we’ve got this!
