It’s Almost Here

What a year this has been!

I can’t tell you how grateful I am to have you on our team, standing in the gap for our children and our public schools. You have made all the difference.

The 2025 Legislative Session will begin on Tuesday, January 7, and it promises to be a doozy! We are going to need your help. Take a listen to The Other Side podcast where I laid out what we expect to see in the 2025 Legislative Session.

Our top concerns? Teacher pay, cost of teachers’ health insurance for family coverage, full funding of public schools, diversion of public funds to unaccountable private schools, and more.

Our public schools have come so far over the last few decades, and your support has been instrumental in getting them the resources they needed to make those positive advances. Many thousands of children have better lives because of you. All of that good could be undone with one legislative session gone awry, so please:

  • watch for our notifications about legislation that needs your attention
  • begin now having conversations with your legislators about the dangers of private school vouchers and tax credits and other school choice schemes that threaten our public schools and the health of our communities (see my new op-ed in your local newspaper or read it here)

For me, this holy season is a reminder of the fragility – and the remarkable potential – of every child. Thank you for your commitment to Mississippi children!

We at The Parents’ Campaign wish you a safe and joy-filled holiday and many blessings in the new year.
