Election Day is right around the corner, and it is important for public school supporters to cast their votes every time the polls are open!
If you are age 65 or older or won’t be able to get to your polling place on November 5, you can vote absentee at your Circuit Clerk’s office. Circuit Clerks’ offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and they will be open the next two Saturdays (October 26 and November 2) from 8:00 a.m. to noon. Voters in more than 50 Mississippi school districts will have candidates for their school boards on their November ballots. We want you to know where the candidates stand on important education issues, so we asked them to complete our School Board Candidate Q&A questionnaire. You can see their answers here.
If candidates in your district haven’t yet responded, please encourage them to do so now. Send them the link to the questionnaire, and ask them to respond right away. We will get their answers posted as soon as we receive them.
Before you head to the polls, check out where school board candidates stand on public education, and be sure to pass along the information to your neighbors.
If you don’t live in a district with a school board election, please share with public education voters in other communities.
We won’t tell you which candidates to vote for (The Parents’ Campaign does not endorse candidates – that’s up to you to decide). But we will tell you what candidates have to say about their support for public schools.
