The 2025 Legislative Session convened at noon today, and we at The Parents’ Campaign look forward to working with our legislators to address the education issues that are so important to our communities.
As public school supporters, we have a critical role to play in shaping effective education policy. Our legislators want to represent us well, and we can’t expect them to read our minds. They need to hear from you about your priorities and to better understand the potential impact of the legislation they will consider.
If you haven’t already, please begin now to establish positive, open lines of communication with your legislators so that you can have ongoing discussions about issues that are important to you. Bookmark our legislative web page, where you will find regular updates about bills that affect your public schools as well as the names and contact information for legislators who represent your school district, links to watch the Legislature in session, and more.
Public schools are the lifeblood of our communities, and the strength of those schools affects economic development, property values, crime rates, and every aspect of our quality of life. Our work together to strengthen and protect the efficacy of our public schools will buoy the life-chances of hundreds of thousands of Mississippi children. What a blessing!
