Vote Today in Senate Runoffs

Voters in two State Senate districts have runoff elections today, Tuesday, Dec. 2. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Senate District 24 (portions of Leflore, Panola, and Tallahatchie counties) and Senate District 26 (portions of Hinds and Madison counties).

The out-of-state voucher lobby has been pouring money into Mississippi, pushing bills that would be extremely harmful to public schools and our communities. Those bills almost certainly will be introduced in the 2026 Legislative Session, which begins just weeks from now. That’s why it is critical that public school supporters get to the polls today to help elect a senator who will vote to keep public schools strong.

All registered voters in the two runoff districts are eligible to participate, whether or not they voted in the Nov. 4 general election.

Before you head to the polls, please check out what the candidates themselves say about public school funding, private school vouchers, pre-k, and other important education matters in our Candidate Q&A for the two runoff districts.

Runoff elections typically have very low turnouts, so this is a terrific opportunity for public education voters to have an outsized impact. Please help us spread the word and get lots of public school supporters to the polls. Together, we’ve got this!
