The Mississippi Department of Education is requesting public comments on two policies: (1) additional revisions to the Mississippi Kindergarten Guidelines and (2) a new policy governing the response to requests for student records.
The public comments that were submitted in response to MDE’s initial revisions to the kindergarten guidelines and the additional changes made in response to those suggestions can be found here. Your written comments on the additional changes to the guidelines may be emailed to Ms. Amanda Malone at ammalone@mdek12.org. Alternatively, they can be sent by postal mail to Ms. Amanda Malone, Office of Curriculum & Instruction, Mississippi Department of Education, P.O. Box 771, Jackson, MS 39205-0771, or dropped off in person at the MDE offices at 359 North West Street, Jackson, MS. The deadline for submitting public comments on the kindergarten guidelines is 5:00 p.m. on October 18.
